Hair Transplant
Which techniques do you use – FUE, Sapphire, DHI?
All three, depending on your starting point. FUE is the proven standard, Sapphire FUE uses especially fine blades for faster healing, and DHI places the follicles directly with an implanter pen – ideal if you don't want your head shaved. We'll work out which technique suits you in your initial consultation.
Where does the procedure take place?
In Germany – at our locations in Cologne (Wallrafplatz 2–4) and Aachen (Harscampstr. 81). Dr. Merdan Celik and his team operate on site. You can skip the flight and the hotel.
How long does a hair transplant take?
Between four and eight hours depending on the number of grafts – a single treatment day. You're awake throughout, under local anaesthesia, with the relaxing Sleep Deep method available on request. Breaks are part of the process.
Does the procedure hurt?
Honestly: the anaesthetic injections at the start pinch a little, but after that most people barely feel a thing. In our experience, the hardest part is having the patience to wait for the final result.
When will I be presentable again?
With Sapphire FUE and DHI, usually after about a week. Small crusts heal within the first few days; with longer hair, hardly anything is noticeable even sooner.
When will I see the final result?
The first new hairs appear from the third to fourth month. In between comes what's known as shock loss – the transplanted hairs fall out at first, which is normal and no cause for concern. The full result is in place after about twelve months.
Is the result permanent?
The transplanted follicles come from the back of the head and are insensitive to the hormone that triggers hereditary hair loss. As a rule, they therefore keep growing permanently. Existing, non-transplanted hair can continue to thin, however – we'll advise you honestly on that too.
Do you also transplant beard hair and eyebrows?
Yes, both. Eyebrows are built up with individually placed follicles in the natural direction of growth, beard hair to fill in patchy areas. The planning here is especially delicate – and that is precisely Dr. Celik's speciality.
For Women & Without Shaving
Is a hair transplant really possible without shaving?
Yes, with the DHI method. Only a small donor area at the back of the head is trimmed slightly and disappears under the hair on top. Your hairstyle and hair length stay intact. All the details: hair transplants for women without shaving.
Is hair loss in women different from hair loss in men?
Usually, yes. While men typically develop a receding hairline and a bald crown, women more often experience diffuse thinning along the parting – the hairline itself stays intact. That's why identifying the cause is particularly important for women before surgery is even discussed.
Does a transplant help with hormone-related hair loss, e.g. during menopause?
Not as a first step. As long as the hair loss is still active, you would be transplanting into an ongoing process. First the cause is identified and stabilised – often with PRP or mesotherapy. A transplant becomes an option once things have settled down.
Can I come to a consultation with long hair and still get an honest assessment?
Absolutely – you don't need to prepare anything. We examine your scalp and parting just as they are. If you like, a photo via WhatsApp is even enough for an initial assessment.
How natural does a new hairline look on women?
It all comes down to the planning: single hairs along the very front line, varying directions of growth, no dead-straight edge. Done well, no one can tell the difference – not even your hairdresser.
Treating Hair Loss without Surgery
Does it have to be a transplant right away?
Often not. As long as the hair roots are still active, a lot can be stabilised with PRP, mesotherapy or polynucleotides. See our overview: treating hair loss without surgery.
What does PRP do for hair loss?
PRP uses the growth factors from your own blood to strengthen the environment around the hair roots. Well established for diffuse and early hereditary hair loss – usually as a series of three sessions (199 € each, 499 € as a package).
What is the difference between PRP, mesotherapy and polynucleotides?
PRP works with processed autologous blood, mesotherapy with individually composed cocktails of active ingredients (vitamins, amino acids), and polynucleotides with regenerative building blocks for the scalp environment. Depending on the findings, they're used individually or in combination.
How quickly do the treatments work?
Hair grows in cycles – visible changes take two to four months. We document your progress with photos, so you don't have to rely on gut feeling alone.
Are there any side effects?
Usually only mild redness or a feeling of tightness at the injection sites, which subsides within a few hours. Since PRP is derived from your own blood, allergic reactions are practically ruled out.
What happens if I stop the treatment?
Nothing dramatic – but the natural course of your hair loss will resume. Any gains fade slowly over the following months. That's why we discuss realistically beforehand what rhythm your particular case requires.
PRP, Mesotherapy & Polynucleotides in Detail
What does a PRP session involve?
A blood draw just like at your GP's, about ten minutes in the centrifuge, and then the harvested plasma is introduced into the scalp with fine needles. All in all, you're done in 30 to 45 minutes – with no downtime.
What is in the mesotherapy mixture?
That depends on your findings: typically vitamins, amino acids, trace elements and substances that promote blood circulation. We use the Pistor mesotherapy gun for even, superficial injections.
Are polynucleotides the right choice for me?
Polynucleotides are worth considering when the scalp itself needs treating too – for instance if it is stressed, dry or prone to inflammation. We often combine them with PRP. The upfront analysis determines whether they're right for you.
Can I combine the methods?
Yes, and it often makes sense – which is why we offer the SuperAftercare package with three sessions each of PRP, mesotherapy and polynucleotides for 948 €. We'll tell you frankly whether the combination will do more for you than a single method.
How often do I need a top-up?
After the initial series, one top-up every four to six months is usually enough, depending on how things develop. Some patients come once a year, some not at all any more – the documented progress decides that, not a subscription model.
Aftercare & Returning from Turkey
I had surgery in Turkey – will you take over the aftercare?
Yes, that's one of our specialities. Progress check-ups are free of charge, and treatments such as PRP or mesotherapy are available at a fixed price. We don't need any paperwork from your clinic – a recent photo and a short conversation are enough. More: aftercare following surgery in Turkey.
Why is aftercare so important after a hair transplant?
Because the result takes shape in the months after the procedure. Graft survival, healing and scalp condition can all be positively influenced – and problems are spotted early rather than only after a year. Details: aftercare following a hair transplant.
What does aftercare include?
Progress check-ups with photo documentation, clear care instructions for the first weeks and – depending on how things develop – supporting treatments such as PRP, mesotherapy or polynucleotides. Not everyone needs everything.
My crusts/redness are worrying me. Who should I contact?
Best to contact us directly: send a photo via WhatsApp to 0163 78 92 490 and we'll take a look at short notice. In the vast majority of cases everything is part of the normal healing process – and if it isn't, we act early.
What does the aftercare cost?
Consultation and check-ups: 0 €. PRP 199 € per session, mesotherapy 129 €, polynucleotides 199 €, each cheaper as a package of three. The complete SuperAftercare package costs 948 €.
Costs, Appointments & Organisation
What does a hair transplant cost with you?
Fixed prices with no hidden costs: FUE Lite from 2.470 € (up to 2.000 grafts), BASIC with Sapphire FUE and DHI 2.840 € (up to 4.000 grafts), Premium 3.490 € (up to 5.000 grafts). Medication, surgical materials and twelve months of follow-up check-ups are included.
Why are you cheaper than many German clinics?
Because we specialise in hair medicine and run a lean operation – two locations, a well-practised team, no glossy lobby. We don't cut corners on the procedure itself: surgery is performed by an experienced team of specialists.
Will health insurance cover anything?
As a rule, no – hair transplants and aesthetic hair treatments are considered self-pay services. Exceptions (for instance after accidents) are best clarified directly with your insurer in advance. We're not financial or insurance advisers, but we're happy to share what we've seen in practice.
How quickly can I get an appointment?
Is the initial consultation really free – even if I decide against treatment?
Yes, no strings attached. The consultation is an assessment, not a sales pitch. A good share of our initial consultations end with the recommendation to do nothing for now, or something else entirely.
Can I see examples of your results beforehand?
Yes – in a personal consultation we'll show you documented patient results. Online, we deliberately publish very little, out of respect for privacy and because of the legal requirements for medical professions.
Didn't find your question?
Then just ask us directly – via WhatsApp, by phone or in a free initial consultation. We'll answer the same way we do here: no jargon, no sales pressure.
